Joselyn, originally from New Jersey, came to us from South Africa where she has been living for the past 8 years. She is currently a PhD candidate of Zoology at the University of Cape Town and the Institute for Communities and Wildlife in Africa (iCWild). Joselyn studies one of the most highly persecuted primates in Africa, the chacma baboon. She focuses specifically on baboons living in residential areas. In light of increasing urbanization, she is working to conserve baboons by promoting responsible ways of living so that residents, baboons and other wildlife can share the urban space. Joselyn was recommended to us by her brother-in-law who had the Lasik procedure with Barry 13 years ago.
She loves the new-found freedom of not having to worry about glasses or contacts before heading out with the baboons every day!
